Celebrating 25 Years
The Birth of a Classic. In 2001 the first Alfred Dunhill Links Championship took place at the Old Course St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns. For golfers around the world, St Andrews, the Home of Golf, is simply unique. Golf has been played over these historic Links for hundreds of years and the Alfred Dunhill Links has become a part of the present-day story of golf in this enchanting place.
A celebration of Links golf, the Championship combines a traditional 72-hole professional competition on the DP World Tour with a Team Championship in which each professional partners an amateur.
The Alfred Dunhill Links is the only major professional tournament now played every year at St Andrews and one of the joys of the Championship is the international nature of the field, as players from all over the world come to the Home of Golf to enjoy great sport and camaraderie.
This year marks the 25th edition of the tournament.
