ST ANDREWS, September 27, 2019 – Rory launches second round with eagle and three birdies.

A blistering start at Kingsbarns saw Rory McIlroy storm up the leaderboard in the second round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The World No 2 showed his intent with an outward five-under-par 31 to be seven-under-par for the Championship at the turn.

His round had begun with birdie, par, eagle, birdie, birdie. He then had pars for the remaining four holes.

His strong start followed a slightly disappointing 70 at Carnoustie yesterday, when he made seven at the par five 6th hole, Hogan’s Alley, which left him seven shots off the lead.
