IWC Schaffhausen is the Official Timing Partner
For the second year in a row, IWC Schaffhausen is the official timing partner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The Swiss luxury watch manufacturer’s iconic timepieces will mark a strong presence on all three courses – the Old Course St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns – when the highly popular golf event begins on September 29. In addition, IWC will also be represented on the course as professional players and Friends of the Brand Pablo Larrazabal, Richard Sterne and Charl Schwartzel will be participating in the tournament.
IWC has been at the forefront of watchmaking and innovation for over 150 years. Founded by the American watchmaker and engineer Florentine Ariosto Jones in 1868, the brand has earned a reputation for its unique engineering. IWC creates professional instrument watches and functional complications, with a particular focus on robust chronographs and easy-to-use calendars. In addition, the brand is also known for its unique expertise in advanced materials.
Chris Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen said: “We are delighted to return to Scotland and once again be the official timing partner of the Alfred Dunhill Links. St Andrews is the Home of Golf, which makes this sporting event even more unique. We are looking forward to supporting the Championship, which is as popular with golf fans at the course as it is with a global TV audience.”
With a prize fund of US$5 million, the Alfred Dunhill Links, which raises substantial funds for charity each year, incorporates two separate competitions - an individual Professional Championship for the world's leading golfers and the Team Championship, in which the pro’s are paired with amateur players, creating a unique atmosphere and camaraderie. The Championship celebrates Links golf at its finest.
Alfred Dunhill has supported golf at St Andrews for more than 35 years, through the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and previously the Alfred Dunhill Cup. Millions have been raised for charity in that time through the work of the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation.
