Hot stuff from Eddie Pepperell

Young English golfer Eddie Pepperell has made the strongest opening of the early starters in the final round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

He had five birdies to go out on the Old Course with a score of 31 and zoom up the leaderboard to 11-under-par.

Former US Open champion Graeme McDowell also had a good first nine with four birdies in an excellent 32 to reach ten-under-par.

They both face a seemingly impossible task in catching overnight leader Tyrrell Hatton who is on 18-under-par, but their lively starts show that there are plenty of birdies to be had on a sunny day with no more than a light breeze to cope with.

Hatton, who starts shortly, finished the third round with a five-shot lead over Gregory Bourdy.
