ST ANDREWS, October 2, 2018 – Dutch football legend Ruud Gullit has been handed a new sporting challenge – to bring in partner Tyrrell Hatton for a record third straight Alfred Dunhill Links title at St Andrews.
Hatton has said that his partner for the last two years, Jamie Dornan, played a big part in his two victories, but the popular actor is unable to play because of film commitments.
The new pairing was revealed when the draw for the Championship, which takes place from October 4-7 at Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and the Old Course St Andrews, was announced today.
Current US Open and US PGA champion Brooks Koepka gives his regular caddie Ricky Elliott a taste of the big time when they join up to play in the Team Championship.
One of Europe’s Ryder Cup heroes Tommy Fleetwood, who created a new course record 63 at Carnoustie last year, teams with New York financier Ogden Phipps.
Former Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley and Hollywood star Kyle MacLachlan reach a landmark this week when they play in their tenth Alfred Dunhill Links together, while Padraig Harrington is paired once again with fellow Irishman, race horse owner JP McManus.
They won the Team Championship in both 2002 and 2006 and are the only team to have achieved the feat twice.
Keiran McManus, son of J.P., will be bidding for a record fourth Team Championship with a new partner Freddie Jacobson.
