England’s Andrew Wilson enjoyed a memorable day with a hole-in-one at Kingsbarns during the first round of the Alfred Dunhill Links.
He had opened his round with four birdies in the first five holes then at the 8th hole he used a 9-iron to hole his tee shot from 165 yards.
The 30-year-old followed that with three birdies on the back nine to reach nine-under-par, two shots behind first-round leader Darren Fichardt.
He said: "Perfect nine iron. Thought it was a bit short, but it was a pretty good number and trickled in. I haven’t had one for 12 years.”
