A member of Dubai Creek and Queenwood in the UK, he says his best moment was holding his second shot for an eagle on the 18th on the Old Course in 2018. This is his fourth appearance in the Championship

Before that he was with Google for ten years where he was senior vice president and chief business officer. Born in India, he now lives in California. A member of Menlo in the US and Queenwood in the UK, this is his seventh appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
CharlesAYRESUSABorn in San Francisco, he is Managing Partner and Chairman of Trilantic Capital Partners, formed by the management spin-out in April 2009 from the former Lehman Brothers. He began playing golf at Piping Rock on Long Island and now plays mostly at Shinnecock Hills. This is his ninth Alfred Dunhill Links. Has made the cut in the Team Championship twice.
HickmanBACONUKAn entrepreneur who has a stable of African consumer brands. Based in London, he is a member of Sunningdale. The eldest son of the UK’s premier baronet, Sir Nicholas Bacon, this is his second appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
OliverBAKERUKA graduate of St Andrews University, he works in wealth management. He is the grandson of Sir Michael Bonallack, Britain’s greatest amateur golfer and former Secretary of the R&A. Says playing Augusta with his grandfather and holing a 20ft putt on the 18th green to halve the match is his greatest golfing memory. A member of Aldeburgh and the R&A, this is the third time he has played in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

A member of Nantucket, The Floridian and Toronto. Says his greatest Alfred Dunhill Links moment was an eagle on the Road Hole at St Andrews. This is the fifth time that he has played.
JanBENGTSSONSWEDENBorn in Gothenburg, he is a member of the family which founded the H&M fashion group. He is founder and partner in investment company Schuylkill. A member of Kristianstad in Sweden and Loch Lomond in Scotland. This is his 14th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Says his best moment was making the cut ten years ago with Mattias Eliasson.
ErnestoBERTARELLISWISSWinner of 2012 Alfred Dunhill Links Team Championship with Swedish golfer Alexander Noren, which he described as his ‘greatest and most memorable golfing moment’” Ernesto Bertarelli is the man behind the Swiss yachting team Alinghi which won the America’s Cup in 2003 and 2007. A Swiss-Italian entrepreneur, who is Chairman of Waypoint Capital, he was born in Rome before his family moved to Switzerland in 1977. Plays most of his golf at Golf Club de Geneve. This is his ninth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
RichardBEVANUKChief Executive of English football’s League Managers’ Association. Before that he was CEO of the Professional Cricketers Association. A member of Mere in Cheshire, this is the 13th time he has played in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Says making the cut in 2009 with Ross McGowan was his greatest golf moment. Sits on the fundraising board for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.
AmitBHATIAUKBorn in London, he was educated in Delhi and at Dulwich College, before attending Cornell University. He was a banker in mergers and acquisitions before working for his family’s Swordfish Investments company. The family is also part-owners of Air Asia. He is Deputy Chairman of UK construction group Breedon. In 2007 he bought a stake in London football club Queens Park Rangers and became chairman in 2018. He is a member of Beaverbrook, Queenwood and Wentworth. This is his first appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
TonyBIRDUKNow retired, he is founder and Director of Patech Solutions, an IT support company for organisations in the public and private sector, based in Lichfield, Staffordshire, UK. His great grandfather invented the famous British dessert Birds Custard. He plays most of his golf at Sherwood Forest and Whittington Heath. In 2016 he finished in the top ten in the Team Championship with Nick Dougherty. This is his ninth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
ErweeBOTHASAJohannesburg equity trader. He is a member of Leopard Creek and Randpark. This is his fifth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. In 2017 he was leading the Team Championship with Yikeun Chang with three holes to go, but finished second behind Jamie Donaldson and Kieran McManus.
Sir IanBOTHAMUKAs one of cricket’s greatest all-rounders, Sir Ian scored more than 5,000 runs in 102 Test matches and took 383 wickets. The 1981 Ashes series is now famously remembered as ‘Botham’s Ashes’ after his outstanding performances, particularly at Headingley. He retired from international cricket in 1992 and became a cricket analyst. He also does a great deal of charity work, including sponsored endurance walks, such as from Land’s End to John O’Groats. He is a member of the Laureus World Sports Academy and in November 2013 walked across Sri Lanka to raise funds for the charity. He says making the top ten in the 2004 Alfred Dunhill Links with Ian Woosnam was one of his best golfing moments.
LiamBOTHAMUKInitially followed in the footsteps of his famous father Ian Botham playing county cricket. However, after one year with Hampshire, he switched to rugby union in 1997 to play for West Hartlepool. He made his debut for the England Under-21 team the same year, before successive moves to Cardiff and Newcastle Falcons.  In 2003 he switched to rugby league, playing for Leeds and Wigan. This is his 14th Alfred Dunhill Links.

He was a regular member of the South African side after the 1997/1998 tour to Australia, until his retirement from international cricket in July 2012 after a serious eye injury. In that time he oversaw sales rising from 118,000 cases to two million. He was also founder of Extreme Speed Motorsports, the race team he drove for sponsored by Patrón. Says he was only looking for ways to promote his brand when he got the offer to sponsor a NASCAR driver, but this marketing idea turned into a life’s passion. He began to drive the cars himself and in 2016 he became the overall winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring. Plays most of his golf at Adios and The Bears clubs in Florida. This is his second appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

SchalkBURGERSAPlayed lock for South Africa’s Springboks from 1984-86. His son Schalk Burger Jnr has played 86 times for the Springboks and has most recently played for London club Saracens. Schalk Snr is a wine farmer at Welbedacht, a family-owned property in the Groenberg Mountain north of Wellington. He is a member of Wellington, the oldest nine-hole course in South Africa. Came third in the Alfred Dunhill Links Team Championship with Anton Haig in 2007 with son Tiaan as caddie. This is the 16th time he has played.
EleanorCANNONUKChair of Scottish Golf, following the amalgamation of the men’s Scottish Golf Union and the Scottish Ladies’ Golfing Association. Senior partner of an executive coaching company, she worked at the Alfred Dunhill Cup as a St Andrews University student in 1985. A member of Ranfurly Castle, this is the fourth time she has played in the Championship.
KornCHATIKAVANIJTHAILANDBorn in London, he is a Thai politician with the Democrat Party. He was an undergraduate at Oxford University, before becoming an investment banker in Bangkok, founding the brokerage firm J.F.Thanakom, which was sold to JP Morgan in 1999. He stayed with the company until 2004 when he ran for office for the Democrat Party. He was finance minister from 2008-2011. In August 2014, he created Kaset Khem Kaeng, a non-profit mission to help small farmers receive fair compensation for their produce. He has not played since the inaugural Alfred Dunhill Links in 2001 when he narrowly failed to make the cut.
ManishCHOPRAINDIA/USAFounded Tiger Veda financial investment in 2006, after leaving Tiger Management to run his own fund. He is based in New York. Began to play golf in Bangalore and now plays mainly at Sebonack on Long Island. As a young player he won the Indian Schools Championship and was captain of an Indian Schools team which played at Sunningdale. Was a member of the first Indian team to play in the International Golf Foundation Championship at Lahinch. Shot the first ever hole-in-one by anyone at the dramatic Tara Iti course in New Zealand. Once birdied 11,12,13 and 14 at Kingsbarns in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

Some years ago he acquired the South African ‘democracy flag’ with signatures of former presidents Nelson Mandela, FW de Klerk and Thabo Mbeki, which flew over the Union Buildings at Mr Mandela's inauguration in May 1994 and returned it to South Africa. Plays most of his golf at Queenwood in the UK. This is his ninth Alfred Dunhill Links.

Born in St Louis, he was a former pitcher for Central Missouri State University. Also Chairman and CEO of Houston-based Crane Capital Group. Plays mostly at The Floridian, which he bought in 2010. Also a member of Monterey Peninsula in California, Deepdale on Long Island and Queenwood in the UK. Says his greatest golf moment was playing with Barack Obama and Tiger Woods at The Floridian. This is his 15th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

Unusually she is right handed, but plays golf left-handed, except when she putts. ‘I have no idea how this happened’ she says. Enjoys sunshine golf in Barbados and Portugal. This is her third appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Married to Gerry McManus who is also playing.
PeterDAWSONUKPresident of the International Golf Federation, he retired in 2015 as Chief Executive of the R&A. A former county player who was captain of Cambridge University Golf Club, he began playing golf at 11 and is a member of the R&A. Says his best Alfred Dunhill Links’ memory was playing with Nick Dougherty when he won in 2007. Was standing right next to Tiger Woods at the 16th green when he famously chipped in at the 2005 Masters. This is his 14th Alfred Dunhill Links.

Says winning the Dimension Data Pro Am in South Africa in February 2018 was her greatest moment in golf. This is her first appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Son of an Italian Ambassador, he has spent considerable time travelling and is fluent in Italian, English, French and Spanish. Plays most of his golf at Nantucket in the US and Beaverbrook and Sunningdale in the UK. This is his 11th Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Has made the cut once.

Previously ran giant French transport and logistics company Norbert Dentressangle which was sold in 2014 to an American company. He is a major shareholder in French football club Olympique Lyonnais. A member of Golf Club de Lyon, he also plays at Golf de Gassin, this is his 11th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. He is a keen skier and hunter. His son Pierre-Henri Dentressangle is also playing.

His father Norbert Dentressangle is also playing.
ScottDeSANOUSAFounder of DeSano Pizza Bakery, he was formerly head of stock trading with Fidelity. Plays most of his golf at Trump National in Florida. This is his 13th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. He finished second in the 2018 Team Championship with Thongchai Jaidee. Says his other most memorable moment was hitting to 12 inches on the 18th in St Andrews in the final round in 2007 on live TV. He is a keen wine collector. Supports the First Tee Foundation and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
BrettDESMONDIREThe son of Dermot Desmond and brother of Ross Desmond, who are also playing. This is his fifth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. A financier, he began playing golf at The Island in Dublin, but now plays mostly at Sunningdale. Says his greatest golfing moment was winning a Father & Son golf competition on Dermot’s 60th birthday. Loves rugby and supports Celtic football club.
DermotDESMONDIRECreated Ireland's financial hub, the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin. He is a partner with J.P. McManus in the Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados and is a major shareholder in Glasgow Celtic. He is a member of the K Club. Says his greatest moment in golf was winning the World Invitational Father & Son tournament at Waterville with each of his sons. Winner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Team Championship in 2010 with Robert Karlsson, he has played in all 19 Championships. Since 1997 he has been Chairman of Irish charity Respect which raises funds for people with mental and physical handicaps. His sons Brett and Ross are also playing.
RossDESMONDIRESon of Dermot Desmond and brother of Brett Desmond, who are also playing. He works in finance. A member of Queenwood, this is his sixth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Agrees with his father that winning the World Invitational Father & Son tournament in Waterville was a very special moment. A keen football fan, he supports Celtic and Manchester United. Had his first ever hole-in-one on April 1, and no one would believe him!
A.B.DE VILLIERSSAAn outstanding batsman and a former captain of South Africa, he was named three times as the ICC One Day International Player of the Year. He scored more than 8,000 runs in both Test and ODI cricket and has a batting average of over 50 in both forms of the game. His career was affected by injury and he retired in May 2018, having played 114 Tests and 228 ODIs. Noted as one of the most innovative batsmen in the modern game, he was known for a range of unorthodox shots. Plays most of his golf at Waterkloof and Pretoria golf clubs This is his first appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
WilliamDEWSALLUKHas spent over 20 years working in the London insurance market. Is now CEO of Gable Insurance, a company he set up in 2004. A member of Queenwood, he says the Championship has produced two of his greatest moments in golf - playing in the final day fourball in 2006 alongside the eventual winners Padraig Harrington & JP McManus and getting a hole-in-one at Kingsbarns in 2008. This is the 16th time he has played in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

This is his sixth fifth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He is Vice Chairman of the ‘Make A Difference’ (MAD) charity which supports under-privileged children in South Africa.

He plays mostly in Dubai and also at Queenwood in the UK. He loves horse racing and falconry. This is his second appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
DaveFARRELLUSABass player for top US band Linkin Park. The band rose to international fame with their debut album Hybrid Theory in 2000, which went diamond in the US and platinum in several other countries. Their second album Meteora topped the Billboard album chart in 2003. Since then they have produced four more albums and sold a total of 70 million. Linkin Park are rebuilding after the death of Chester Bennington. Farrell plays his golf at Coto de Caza in Orange County, California. This is the fourth time he has played in the Alfred Dunhill Links. He says his greatest golfing moment was playing Augusta the day after the 2017 Masters with all the Sunday pins in place and having three birdies.

Founder of property company MDF Capital, he was President and CEO of Vornado Realty Trust when the company bought the giant Merchandise Mart building in Chicago. Plays most of his golf at Atlantic golf club in Bridgehampton, New York. This is his seventh appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

A trustee of golfing charity First Tee which introduces the game to young people, he is also the co-founder of Liberty National Golf Club outside New York City where he plays most of his golf. This is his second appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
CianFOLEYIRESon-in-law of Irish businessman and racehorse owner J.P. McManus, who is also playing. He married Sue Ann McManus in 2007 after they met at college. This is his eighth Alfred Dunhill Links.
LuisFIGOPORTUGALBorn in Lisbon, he was one of the greatest players of his generation. He was an attacking midfielder for Sporting Lisbon, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan, before retiring from football in May 2009. He played 127 times for Portugal. He was 2000 European Footballer of the Year and 2001 FIFA World Player of the Year. He is one of the few footballers to have played for both rival Spanish clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid. His 2000 transfer to Real was for a then world record fee of £37 million. He won the Champions League with Real in 2002. Figo is an advisor for UEFA and supports the Stop TB Partnership against tuberculosis. A member of Encin and Moraleja golf clubs in Madrid, this is his fourth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Says his greatest golfing moment was watching his friend Sergio Garcia win the 2017 Masters.

DanFRIEDKINUSAIn his first event appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links, he played with last year’s professional champion Lucas Bjerregaard, making the cut and finishing tenth. He plays at Pine Valley, Riviera and River Oaks in the US and Queenwood in the UK. He is Chairman and CEO of the Friedkin group which distributes Toyota vehicles in southern US states and runs property and golf course developments. The Friedkin Conservation Trust works to preserve more than six million acres in Tanzania. He owns and flies one of the largest collections of vintage military war planes in the US. Father of Ryan Friedkin who is also playing.
RyanFRIEDKINUSALives in Santa Monica, California, he is a producer at Imperative Entertainment which specializes in developing and financing entertainment content for film and TV. Son of Dan Friedkin, who is also playing, he is passionate about wildlife conservation like his father and is involved with the Friedkin Conservation Trust which works to preserve more than six million acres in Tanzania.

A member of the Institute Golf Club in San Jose, this is the seventh time he has played in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
BillyGETTYUSAThird son of Gordon Getty and grandson of oil tycoon J Paul Getty, he lives in San Francisco where he is a property and golf course developer and is involved in wealth management. When he married Vanessa Jarman in the Napa Valley in 1999 they drove to the reception in a golf cart. Now a member of Olympic, this is the 16th time he has played in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Says his greatest moments were shooting a team score of 57 with Joakim Lagergren in 2017 and an individual 69 at Kingsbarns in 2017.
MartinGILBERTUKBorn in Kuala Lumpur, he is CEO of Aberdeen Standard, the financial services company formed by the merger of Aberdeen Asset Management, which he founded, and Standard Life. He plays at Royal Aberdeen and is also a member of the R&A. He is a Director of Aberdeen Football Club, a passion he shares with golfer Paul Lawrie. Says playing in the Alfred Dunhill Links when Lawrie won in 2001 was his most memorable golfing moment. Has played in all 19 Championships.
RurikGOBELSADirector of a Johannesburg stockbroking firm, he is a member of Leopard Creek. Began playing golf on a sand golf course with oil greens in Carnarvon, Western Cape. Says his greatest golfing moment was winning the 2005 Alfred Dunhill Links Team Championship with Henrik Stenson. This is his 18th Championship.
BeltránGÓMEZ-ACEBOSPAINNephew of Juan Carlos I of Spain, the former King of Spain. He is the son of the late Luis Gomez-Acebo y de Estrada and the Infanta Pilar of Spain. He is CEO of a real estate company. A member of Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro in Madrid, he is a winner of the Sugar Amateur Championship in the Dominican Republic. This is his 14th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Says his best golfing moment was in a practice round at Kingsbarns six years ago when, with partner Gonzalo Fernandez Castaño, he beat José Maria Olazábal and Miguel Ángel Jiménez.

VinnieJONESUKA renowned tough guy footballer with Wimbledon in the 1980s, he also played for Chelsea, Leeds, Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers. Although born near London, he played for the Welsh national team because he had a Welsh grandparent. The highlight of his career came in 1988 when Wimbledon, cheered on by all the neutral supporters, defeated Liverpool in the FA Cup Final. When his career ended, he capitalised on his image, becoming an actor playing violent roles, appearing in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Gone in 60 Seconds and Mean Machine. He also played Juggernaut in the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand. Now he lives in Los Angeles. This is his first appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

He played 166 Tests for South Africa and scored more than 13,000 Test runs. He runs his own foundation to encourage young cricketers from various backgrounds. A member of Westlake in Cape Town, this is his sixth Alfred Dunhill Links.
HorstKAYMERGERMANYFather of 2010 Alfred Dunhill Links champion Martin Kaymer, who was also 2010 US PGA and 2014 US Open winner. Horst was there on both occasions to watch him win. A businessman, he is a member of Mettmann Golf Club near Dusseldorf, where Martin and his brother Philip first began to play golf. This is his fourth appearance as a player. In 2008, when Philip played with Martin, Horst was the caddie.

Says his funniest moment was scoring an eagle when playing with Miguel Angel Jimenez. ‘He congratulated me in Spanish – I think’ said Kinnear. ’And gave me a cigar.’

Wladimir also appeared with another world heavweight champion, Lennox Lewis, in the film Ocean’s Eleven. As well as being a passionate golfer, he is a keen chess player. This is his fourth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

The Power of Love and Hip to be Square were two of their biggest hits and the 1983 album Sports sold more than ten million copies in the US alone. The band remains in great demand for live performances. Huey is also an accomplished actor. He played Billy Flynn in the Broadway production of Chicago, and in Duets in 2000 he played Ricky Dean, the karaoke hustler father of the film’s star Gwyneth Paltrow. This is his 12th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Plays most of his golf at Stockfarm, Montana. Once holed a ball from the Road Hole bunker – by throwing it.

He played most famously in the 1980 Springbok team which beat Bill Beaumont’s British Lions, starting in all four games and scoring a try in each of the first two matches. In 1985 he moved to English rugby league club Wigan. Plays most of his golf at Stillbai on the Garden Route, this is his 11th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Has made the cut twice.

Sir Anthony (A.P.)McCOYUKKnown universally as A.P., the Northern Irish jump jockey broke all the records in his sport by the time he retired in April 2015. He rode in more than 16,000 races, had 4,357 winners, over 1,000 falls and was champion jockey 19 times - every year he rode professionally. He rode many times for owner JP McManus, who is also playing. A member of West Berkshire, this is his fifth appearance. Says his best golfing moment was playing with Tiger Woods at the J.P.McManus Pro-Am in 2010. Once overturned a golf buggy with fellow jockeys Mick Fitzgerald and John Francome in it.
BrianMcFADDENIREFormer lead singer for boyband Westlife until he left in 2004 to launch a solo career. As well as singing, has appeared in many TV shows in the UK and Australia. He toured with Keith Duffy, formerly of Boyzone, as a super group named Boyzlife over the last three years. Plays most of his golf at The Mere in Cheshire. This is his fourth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Says his best moment was finishing runner-up in the Team Championship with Robert Rock in 2017.
GerryMcILROYUKBelfast born, father of Rory McIlroy. A member of Holywood golf club, seven miles outside the city, where Rory learned his golf. Now plays most of his golf in Florida. Rory dedicated his 2014 Open win at Royal Liverpool to Gerry and his mother Rosie. In 2004 Gerry famously placed a £200 bet on Rory to win The Open by the time he was 25 at odds of 500-1 and collected £100,000. Celebrated his birthday at the Alfred Dunhill Links in 2014 by playing with Rory in the last group on the final day. Says his most memorable golfing moment was when Rory won the 2011 US Open on Father’s Day. This is his fifth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
GerryMcMANUSIREBorn in Limerick, he is the brother of J.P. McManus, the Irish businessman and racehorse owner, who is also playing. A finance director, he is a member of Adare Manor, host club for the 2026 Ryder Cup. This is his 17th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. An enthusiastic collector of classic cars, he owns a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta once owned by Eric Clapton. Married to Maeve Danaher who is also playing.
J.P.McMANUSIREJohn Patrick McManus - known throughout the world as J.P. - started working in his family’s plant hire firm, but at 20 became a bookmaker at Limerick’s greyhound track. By the time he was 26, he had bought his first racehorse and had begun what became a successful foreign currency trading business. In 1997 McManus teamed up with Dermot Desmond to buy the Sandy Lane resort in Barbados. Two years later, his horse Istabraq won the first of three Champion Hurdles. Now he owns more than 100 horses. Launched the J.P. McManus Golf Classic in Limerick in 1990 and has played some of the world’s top golfers, even defeating Tiger Woods at Limerick. Won the Alfred Dunhill Links Team Championship with Padraig Harrington in 2002 and 2006. This is his 18th appearance. His brother Gerry and son Kieran are also playing.

Has won the Team Championship a record three times: In 2009 he won with Soren Hansen, in 2014 with Peter Lawrie and in 2017 with Jamie Donaldson. Means he has surpassed his father who has won twice. He started the cricket charity Chance to Shine which has raised more than £40 million and brought the game to 4,500 state schools that never played it before. His cricket memoir A Beautiful Game was published in 2016.

He is co-founder and partner in the private equity firm Snow Phipps in New York. He is a member of Deepdale and National Golf Links on Long Island and Seminole in Florida. This is his 11th Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Once teed off on the Old Course wearing a kilt after losing a bet to Ernie Els.

He is a member of Wentworth in the UK and Leopard Creek in South Africa. This is his fifth Alfred Dunhill Links. He is a passionate environmentalist and works to save rhinos from extinction by raising funds to support anti-poaching efforts.
WijnandPONNETHA member of the Pon family, which runs a group of businesses in the Netherlands, Wijnand Pon operates Koepon Holding, a dairy and beef producer. He plays his golf mainly at the 45-hole Winston golf complex in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany, which the family owns. He is very interested in landscape restoration. This is his seventh appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

Plays most of his golf at Deepdale, but also plays at Maroon Creek in Aspen and Lyford Cay in the Bahamas. This is his 18th Alfred Dunhill Links. His brother Wayne Quasha is also playing.

Only began playing in 1998. Says his greatest moment in golf was making the cut in the 2013 Alfred Dunhill Links after ten years of trying. He supports veterans’ charities. Keen collector of Chinese art. His brother Alan Quasha is also playing.

He is a member of Monterey Peninsula. Had two holes-in-one at the 17th at Tehama, the course owned by Clint Eastwood, nine years apart. This is his tenth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
EdortaRAHMSPAINFather of Spanish golfer Jon Rahm. From the coastal town of Barrika in Spain. Edorta and his wife decided to take up golf after the 1997 Ryder Cup at Valderrama, in which Seve Ballesteros was the European team captain. Edorta and his wife Angela were instrumental in persuading Jon to go to the United States if he wanted to have a career in golf. Edorta said playing with his son in the Alfred Dunhill Links will be his greatest golfing moment so far.

During his career, he caught 495 passes for 6,831 yards, had 44 touchdowns and rushed for 52 yards. After retirement, he became a sportscaster, covering NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball. A member of The Bears Club, Frenchman’s Creek, Manhattan Woods and Old Palm in the US and Red Tail in Canada. .
Sir SteveREDGRAVEUKOne of the greatest Olympians, winning rowing gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games, beginning with the coxed fours in 1984 in Los Angeles and finishing with the coxless fours in Sydney in 2000. He is now high performance director for the China rowing team. Steve is a member of the Laureus World Sports Academy. He is also a trustee of Comic Relief and supports his own Steve Redgrave Fund. Since being diagnosed with diabetes in 1997, he has become an inspiration to other sufferers and is a Vice-President of Diabetes UK. He plays most of his golf at Harleyford near Marlow. Has played in all 19 Alfred Dunhill Links. Says his best golfing moment was playing for a Celebrity European team in a Ryder Cup format event at Celtic Manor and holing a 30ft putt on the 18th to win a point for Europe.
JamieREDKNAPPUKTalented footballer who played 239 times for Liverpool. He also played for Bournemouth, Tottenham and Southampton and won 17 England caps.  His best season was 1998-99 when he scored ten goals for Liverpool under manager Gerard Houllier.  The following year he became club captain. He is now a football analyst with Sky TV. A member of Queenwood, this is his ninth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Says making the cut in 2009 with partner Luke Donald and playing in the last group with Rory McIlroy and his father Gerry was a day he will never forget.
HughROBERTSUKFounder of sports events and marketing company SweetSpot, he created a number of major cycling events such as The Tour of Britain, Women’s Tour and RideLondon. He was the first person to complete a circumnavigation of Britain by bike, 7,000km in 64 days. A former Surrey county golfer, he played in the same team as Richard Boxall and Robert Lee. Plays most of his golf at St George’s Hill. This is his fifth Alfred Dunhill Links. .
GaynorRUPERTSAWife of Johann Rupert, Chairman of Richemont, the Swiss luxury goods group, she became South Africa’s new champion racehorse owner for the first time after having 38 home-bred winners in the 2017/18 season, racing under the banner of her Drakenstein Stud in Franschhoek. Plays golf at Erinvale, Hermanus and Leopard Creek in South Africa, Beaverbrook in the UK and Sebonack in the US. Says her greatest golfing moments were getting her first ever hole-in-one on the signature 17th hole on the opening day of Ernie Els’ new course at Oubaai and in 2012, playing with Alfred Dunhill Links winner Branden Grace on the final day at St Andrews.

He also released two solo albums in the early 1980s and created the band Mike and The Mechanics in 1985. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. Plays most of his golf at Sunningdale. This is his third appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

For the past 15 years he has overseen the organisation of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the Alfred Dunhill Championship, among other responsibilities, within the Richemont Group.  He is also a Trustee of the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation. Received his MA and Doctorate in International Relations from the University of St Andrews. While a student there, he manned the scoreboards at the Dunhill Cup.

PatriciaSAWERSUKShe is Chairman of Carnoustie Golf Links, where she has been playing for more than 20 years. She is also Lord Lieutenant of Angus. She says her greatest moments have been playing in the 2012 Alfred Dunhill Links with Craig Lee, and presenting the silver medal to Sam Locke at the Open Championship in Carnoustie in 2018. She has also won the Gourlay Rosebowl which is presented as part of the Northern Ladies Championship. Her son Andrew will be caddying for her. This is her second appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

His successes included the UEFA Champions League victory in 2003 when he scored the winning penalty in the shoot-out against Italian arch-rivals Juventus in the final. Shevchenko began his senior career with his local club Dynamo Kiev in 1994, playing in the team which won the league title in all five years he was there. He moved to Milan in 1999 for a fee of US$25million. After his highly successful time at Milan, he transferred to English club Chelsea for a fee of £30 million. He suffered from injuries there and only played 48 times in three seasons. He retired in July 2012. In July 2016 he was appointed head coach of Ukraine, for whom he is also the record goalscorer, with 48 goals in 111 games. Plays golf at Queenwood in the UK. This is his second Alfred Dunhill Links.

Simpson met band member James McVey via YouTube in 2012 and they began working on their debut album soon after. Their first two albums, Meet The Vamps and Wake Up, are both certified gold in the UK. The Vamps have also launched their own record label, Steady Records. His father Derek Simpson is the golf professional at The Belfry. This is his first appearance at the Alfred Dunhill Links.

A former pupil of Alness Academy in Scotland, he has never lost his appetite for Scottish rugby. He plays most of his golf at the River Club in Johannesburg. Says his greatest golfing moment was winning the Utah Mid-Amateur. On his birthday this year at Pebble Beach, he hit a 7-iron into the ocean at the famous par three 17th, re-teed and had a hole-in-one – for a par three! Also plays at Scottsdale National. This is his fourth Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Plays basketball three times a week.

He says his most entertaining golfing moment was playing with John Daly in 2015 – “never had more fun in my life on the golf course”, he says. Supports rhino conservation.

This is his fifth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. He is a keen horse racing enthusiast, both as owner and sponsor of races.

GerryTVEDTUKBorn near Glasgow, he is Chairman of the Tvedt Group, which owns companies specialising in interior construction. Plays golf at Ganton and Queenwood. Says his most interesting golfing moment was playing Darren Clarke in the final of the Queenwood medal. He hit a good drive on the opening par five, then watched Darren hit a driver and wedge to a foot for a ‘gimme’ eagle. This is his 15th Alfred Dunhill Links.
JohnTYSONUSAChairman of Arkansas-based American food giant Tyson Foods. The company is one of the world’s largest processors of chicken, beef and pork. Tyson Foods have been active in disaster relief efforts particularly after Hurricane Katrina in 2008, shipping in food to affected areas. A member of Blessings Golf Club in Arkansas, this is his 16th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Says his greatest golfing moment was making eagle on the 18th on the Old Course and making the cut in 2017 and again in 2018.

CharlieVAN DYKSABorn in Kenya, he is a businessman and farmer. A member of South African clubs Leopard Creek and Kambaku, he has had some intriguing encounters. He was once playing with his wife Lucia at Leopard Creek, where she had to chip over a crocodile on the 5th hole. And his partner at Kambaku one day found himself sharing a bunker with a puff adder. This is his eighth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Brother of Harry Van Dyk who is also playing.
HarryVAN DYKSAA businessman and banana farmer in Mozambique. He began playing golf at Malelane in Mpumalanga and is now a member of Leopard Creek. He has his own three-hole course. He is an active fundraiser for Malelane and also Kambaku golf course in South Africa. This is his 12th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Says his greatest moment was being in the final fourball of the 2018 Championship with his partner Marcus Fraser. He is an enthusiastic deep-sea fisherman. Brother of Charlie Van Dyk who is also playing.

A member of Leopard Creek and River Club in South Africa and Wentworth in the UK, this is his sixth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links. Says his greatest moment was finishing third with Nacho Elvira in the 2018 Team Championship, also finished fifth in 2015. Represented South Africa at the World Karting Championships in 2011 and 2012.

A Lancastrian who played for Yorkshire, he was appointed England Test captain in July 2003. In total he captained England in 51 Test matches, winning 26, the most by any England captain. Now a cricket writer, he is a member of Wilmslow golf club. This is his 14th Alfred Dunhill Links.

ShaneWARNEAUSTBorn in Victoria, Australia, he was one of cricket’s greatest spin bowlers, taking more than 1,000 wickets in Test and One Day Internationals by the time he retired in January 2007. His total of 708 Test wickets was a world record until surpassed by Muttiah Muralitharan. He is now a TV cricket analyst. Plays mostly at Capital Golf Club in Melbourne. This is his 13th appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Has established the Shane Warne Foundation, which raises funds for seriously ill and underprivileged children in Australia.
IanWEBBUKA respected figure in golf, he has been Chairman of the R&A and is a member of Augusta National, where he serves on the rules committee for the US Masters. He is a former captain of Royal County Down, where he plays most of his golf. He is Chairman of Northern Ireland company John Hogg, a privately-owned family firm, which operates a range of businesses including textiles, travel, fuel oils and property. Says his greatest moment in golf was in 1998 in Santiago, Chile, when as Chairman of the World Amateur Golf Council he presented the Eisenhower Cup to the winning British and Irish team including Luke Donald. This is the 15th time he has played in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

Says his best memory was in 2004 when he played in the final day group with father-in-law Sir Martyn Arbib, who was partnering winner Stephen Gallacher.

She is married to rugby coach Jake White, who coached the Springboks to victory in the 2007 Rugby World Cup and is now coach of Japanese club Toyota Verblitz. A member of Arabella Golf Club in Hermanus, this is her fifth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.

He starred in the film Tenure in 2009 and Death at a Funeral and Middle Men in 2010. From 2011 to 2013 he starred in the TV series Enlightened. His most recent films include Brad’s Status, Arizona and Measure of a Man, as well as The Goldfinch, a film based on the Donna Tartt novel due out in 2019. He has played golf since he was ten and is a member of Bel Air Country Club in Los Angeles. This is his fourth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Was Chairman of the English Professional Cricketers Association for more than five years and is a trustee at Lord’s. He was the first non-American to join the board of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Plays most of his golf at Sunningdale. This is his fifth Alfred Dunhill Links.

A benefactor, he established the Wyss Foundation which protects land from development. He became passionate about the American West and land preservation after visiting the US in 1958 as a student doing a summer job and now has a home in Wyoming. He made the largest single endowment to Harvard when he gave $125 million to establish the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering. This is his fourth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
Xiaolong (Allen)ZHANGCHINACreator of the WeChat Chinese multi-purpose messaging, social media and mobile payment app, and Foxmail mobile chat services. He is President of the Weixin Group, a company within the Chinese Tencent Holdings organisation based in Shenzhen. Won the 2018 Alfred Dunhill Links Team Championship last year with Li Haotong – the first time he had played in the event.
