A seven-time winner on the PGA TOUR, he won the FedEx Cup in 2014 after triumphing in two of the final play-off events.
Made his debut in a regular European Tour event at the 2019 BMW PGA Championship and was effusive in his praise of the tournament, saying: "The way the European Tour putts on a great event, the fans, everything that encompasses this event can rival the best of the best on the PGA Tour in my opinion."
Claimed his first European Tour victory at the 2021 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, defeating Scottie Scheffler 2&1 in the final, and later that season secured his first Rolex Series title at the BMW PGA Championship. Horschel became the first American winner of a Rolex Series event and just the second American to win the BMW PGA Championship, after Arnold Palmer in 1975.
Won his seventh PGA TOUR title at the 2022 Memorial Tournament, carding an assured level par final round to win by four strokes at Muirfield Village.
He became the first American to win the BMW PGA Championship twice.
This is his fourth appearance in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
