Wayne Gretzky

Is widely regarded as the greatest ice hockey player of all time. Nicknamed “The Great One”, he won four Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers and set over 60 NHL records, including most career goals (894), assists (1,963), and points (2,857). Gretzky was named league Most Valuable Player (MVP) nine times and revolutionized hockey with his vision and playmaking. Retiring in 1999, his No. 99 was retired league-wide. He later worked as a coach, executive, and Olympic team manager. Beyond the rink, he remains a global sporting icon and ambassador for the game. He plays most of his golf at Grove XXIII in Hobe Sound, Florida. This is his first appearance in the Championship.
