Will your photo of a links course be voted No.1? Enter now!

Links golf, many believe, is the purest form of the game. And the many outstanding links courses around the United Kingdom and Ireland are proof of that.

Now fans of links golf and keen photographers have the chance to enter a fun new Alfred Dunhill Links competition and win an amazing prize: a fourball at the spectacular Kingsbarns Golf Links, described by Ryder Cup star and US Open champion Graeme McDowell as ‘one of the most beautiful courses in the world’, where you can see the sea from every hole. Plus an exclusive Alfred Dunhill ‘Cadogan’ folio zip bag for each golfer.

There will also be runner-up prizes of stylish golf outfits from the classic Peter Millar range.

The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship was created in 2001 to celebrate links golf and is played over three of the greatest links courses in the world – the historic Old Course at St Andrews, the mighty Championship Course at Carnoustie and the modern classic Kingsbarns.

We are looking for the best picture, taken by an amateur photographer, of one of the more than 200  links courses in the UK or the Republic of Ireland.

From Ballybunnion to Dornoch, from Royal Portrush to Brancaster, from Royal Porthcawl to Hillside, we want to see your great photos.

To win, you will have to satisfy a formidable judging panel, including David Cannon, one of the world’s most acclaimed golf photographers, American Patrick Koenig, one of golf’s exciting new breed of social media photographers, and Martin Dempster, respected Golf Correspondent of The Scotsman and Chairman of the Association of Golf Writers.

Your picture should capture either the very special flavour of links golf, the history and tradition associated with this form of golf or the beautiful scenery associated with links golf.

  • Entrants must be from the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland
  • You can post your pictures on Instagram or Twitter from Thursday August 27 to Tuesday 22 September
  • You must include the hashtag #DunhillLinksPics for your pictures to go to the judging panel
