Rory McIlroy

One of the most successful European players of the modern era, he has been crowned Race to Dubai champion three times (2012, 2014, 2015) and played a key role in six Ryder Cup appearances - with four wins.

Has won 14 European Tour events, including four Major Championships – the 2011 U.S. Open, the 2012 and 2014 US PGA Championships and the 2014 Open Championship.

First reached World Number One in March 2012 and has spent a total of 95 weeks at the top of the Official World Golf Ranking.

In 2015 he began a four-year stint hosting the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and secured a memorable victory in the event in 2016 at The K Club.

In addition to his Major Championship success, McIlroy has won three World Golf Championships events and the PGA TOUR's season-long FedEx Cup on two occasions, most recently in 2019.

Elected chairman of the PGA TOUR's Player Advisory Council for the 2021 calendar year, went on to win his 19th PGA TOUR title at the Wells Fargo Championship a few months later. He then reached the milestone of 20 PGA TOUR victories in 2021 with his win at the CJ Cup at Summit.

Born in Holywood, County Down, he was introduced to the game by father Gerry at a young age.

Enjoyed a glittering amateur career during which he reached the top of the World Amateur Rankings before finishing third in his second event as a professional at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, becoming the then-youngest and quickest Affiliate Member to secure his card.
